Job summary

Kokosing Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a Utility Foreman for the Richmond, VA area. The role supervises crews performing roadways and utilities installation, grading, and related earthwork to match contract drawings and schedules.

Qualifications

• Five years related experience and/or training.
• Experience with water/storm/sewer pipe installation, grading for roadways, etc.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and speak before groups.
• Ability to estimate materials and supervise crew safety.

Responsibilities

• Reviews documents and plans; answers questions before activities.
• Directs and trains crew per contract drawings and specs.
• Acts as OSHA defined competent person on job.
• Plans sequence of activities two-week schedule with Superintendent.
• Estimates worker hours and ensures materials are on hand.
• Supervises utilities installation and roadwork grading.
• Maintains time sheets and production records.
• Conducts weekly safety meetings and enforces safety rules.
• Interprets company policies and enforces disciplinary procedures.
• Keeps crew informed of progress and problems.
