Job summary

Exelon Corporation in Chicago seeks an experienced engineer to design, layouts, construction drawings and BOMs for large utility projects. The role includes field engineering and coordinating with internal and external customers, with potential 24x7 coverage during storms.

You will interpret standards, support New Business installations, removals and relocations, and ensure schedules meet customer need dates while applying safety and quality practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field and 3+ years of technical experience.
• Successful completion of TECH test (bachelor's in engineering exempts).
• Ability to analyze electrical and mechanical systems.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
• Knowledge of construction, operations or engineering principles.
• Proficient CAD skills; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs, layouts, construction drawings, and a bill of material for large projects and complex systems involving the installation/removal/modification of utility infrastructure on Exelon facilities.
• Interprets and applies engineering standards and memos.
• Assists with technical consultation, plan developments and recommendations for customer and company systems and processes.
• Evaluates effectiveness of current design processes; participates on teams.
• Applies technical knowledge to promote a safe work environment and customer satisfaction.
