Job summary

The City of Fort Lauderdale is seeking a skilled worker to oversee maintenance of the George T. Lohmeyer Waste Water Treatment Plant and related water, wastewater, and stormwater system infrastructure. Duties include cleaning, minor repairs, equipment operation, and assisting with construction tasks.

A CDL Class B or higher with Air Brakes and Tanker Endorsement is required within one year of hire. Applicants should be prepared for standby duty, possible night and weekend work, and must meet all

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, G.E.D., or foreign education equivalent.
• At least two years of experience in installation, repair and maintenance of water, sewer, and stormwater systems and related maintenance.
• CDL Class B or higher with Air Brakes and Tanker Endorsement to be obtained within one year from hire date.

Responsibilities

• Cleans industrial buildings process areas.
• Minor building and plant system repairs and painting.
• Operates Vac-Truck for center rings, lateral lines, clarifiers, soft dig.
• Maintains scum stations and sanitary stations.
• Entering confined spaces and performing related duties.
• May perform construction-related duties including carpentry, masonry, and concrete work.
