The City of Fort Lauderdale is seeking a Maintenance Worker to support water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure projects. The role involves repairing mains, inspecting lines, installing swales, and performing related street and utility work.

Successful candidates must hold a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with Air Brakes at the time of application and maintain it after hire. A minimum of one year in wastewater/underground utilities is required, with overtime, night or weekend

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
• CDL Class B with Air Brakes required at appointment.
• Minimum one year in Wastewater & Underground Utilities or related field.

Responsabilités

• Participates in installation, maintenance, and repairs of water distribution, wastewater and stormwater systems.
• Responds to customer complaints; locates service lines, detects leaks, excavates, and repairs service lines.
• Operates a variety of heavy equipment (e.g., jet vacuum, backhoe, excavator) as needed.
• May perform stand-by duties for off-duty emergency call-ins and work nights or weekends.
• Ensures compliance with safety regulations and standard operating procedures.
