Job summary

Capgemini is seeking a Utilities Industry Advisor in Atlanta to serve as the domain authority on electric power generation, transmission, and distribution for US utility clients. You will embed in engagements as the domain authority translating deep sector knowledge into business outcomes and driving results with delivery teams.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of experience within or supporting the electric power industry.
• Deep knowledge of Smart Grid and grid modernization, including utility operations, technology, and regulatory considerations.
• Experience with utility technologies including AMI 2.0, ADMS, SCADA, DMS, OMS, EMS, DERMS and related IT/OT integrations.
• Strong understanding of transmission, generation, and distribution operations, including energy markets, ISO/RTO participation, renewable integration, storage, EVs, and DERs.
• Knowledge of the U.S. utility regulatory environment, including FERC, NERC CIP, state PUC requirements, and integrated resource planning.
• Proven consulting/client-facing experience as an industry SME, business analyst, product owner, or program manager, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical teams and executive stakeholders.
• Ability to travel to U.S. client sites as required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Business, or a related field required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary industry SME on electric utility client engagements across generation, transmission, and distribution.
• Deploy as utilities SME in client-site operations spanning Smart Metering, Data Management, Supply Chain, and Meter-to-Cash.
• Provide advisory and implementation support for AMI 2.0 programs, including meter data analytics.
• Guide clients through ADMS, OMS, and DMS implementations, linking OT needs with IT delivery.
• Advise on DER management (DERMS) strategies for distributed resources.
• Support EMS, SCADA, energy market participation, ISO/RTO operations, and asset performance programs.
• Translate complex utility processes into clear requirements for delivery teams.
• Lead client discovery sessions, current-state assessments, business cases, and roadmaps.
• Build relationships with VP and C-suite executives as domain authority.
• Lead workshops, regulatory strategy sessions, and steering committee presentations.
