Job summary

Sartorius in the United States is seeking a Manager of Utilities to lead the powerhouse, HVAC, water systems, electrical substations, and related utilities critical to production. You will supervise skilled staff and collaborate with EH&S and buildings managers to ensure safe, compliant operations.

The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, cost control, and continuous improvement to support a safe and efficient workplace. Strong leadership and technical expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10 years of progressive experience in operation, management and maintenance of utilities.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple business partners and prioritize tasks.
• Strong management and administrative skills and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate installations and refurbishments to utilities systems.
• Oversee upkeep of equipment and supplies meeting health and safety standards.
• Inspect buildings and determine repairs with the general service manager.
• Review utilities consumption and work to minimize costs.
• Manage insurance plans and service contracts.
• Maintain financial and non-financial records.
• Contract services for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and utilities as needed.
• Ensure mechanical and electrical operations are safe and efficient.
• Review contractor performance and direct reports under supervision.
