Job summary

Sartorius AG is seeking a seasoned facilities and utilities leader in Puerto Rico to oversee installations, refurbishments, and ongoing equipment maintenance. You will ensure health and safety standards, manage contracts, track utilities usage, and maintain records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) is preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in operation, management and maintenance of utility production and supporting auxiliary equipment and systems.
• Ability to work with multiple business partners (supervisors, engineers, operations, and maintenance) and prioritize when needed.
• Management and administrative skills: analyze, delegate, organize.
• Able to read and understand complex electrical, mechanical and automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate all installations and refurbishments to the system or equipment.
• Manage upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards.
• Inspect buildings' structures to determine need for repairs or renovations in coordination with the general service manager.
• Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs.
• Handle insurance plans and service contracts.
• Keep financial and non-financial records.
• Contract services for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and general utilities as per needs.
• Ensure all mechanical and electrical operations are efficient and safe.
• Review and approve work performance by contractors and direct reports under supervision.
• Knowledgeable with operation of steam boilers, site electricity distribution system, potable water systems, RO water system, chilled water, compressed air system, fire pumps, power generators.

Education

Bachelor's degree in any related Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical is preferred)
