Job summary

SSP Innovations seeks a Senior Consultant to deliver advisory services for electric and gas utilities, with leadership across projects and client engagement. The role emphasizes Esri Geospatial solutions, requirements capture, and roadmap development.

You'll mentor staff, support business development, and contribute to thought leadership. Travel up to 25–35% is expected; a related Bachelor's degree and 10 years in utility consulting are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent utility/consulting experience.
• Strong knowledge of electric, gas, water utilities; Gas Distribution a plus.
• 10 years of utility consulting or large-scale project experience.
• Familiarity with Esri GIS technology and related tools.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills; high integrity.
• Willing to travel 25–35% of the time.
• Proficient with MS Office and Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational and technical leadership for electric and gas consulting programs focusing on Esri GIS.
• Represent SSP to prospects and customers; engage utility personnel at all levels.
• Deliver presentations/workshops to capture business and technical requirements.
• Manage deliverables, use-case development, and implementation roadmaps.
• Coordinate projects from initiation to delivery; liaise with clients to meet targets.
• Translate high-level requirements into detailed functional specs and interfaces.
• Identify system interfaces, constraints, and nonfunctional requirements.
• Work solo or in teams on technology consulting projects to meet client needs.
• Mentor senior and junior consultants; support performance management.
• Assist sales with proposals and business development efforts; nurture client relationships.
• Build relationships and support sales through client site visits and meetings.
• Participate in thought leadership activities (blogs, conferences, public speaking).
