Job summary

Open Systems Technologies is seeking a Senior Estimator for gas, water and related utility projects in New Jersey. The role bids cost estimates, manages schedules and controls project costs through construction, while coordinating with clients, contractors, and suppliers.

The candidate will develop detailed estimates, perform quantity take-offs, review bid documents, and generate RFIs to clarify requirements, ensuring readiness for proposal submission and project execution.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating large, complex heavy construction projects with utility scope.
• Ability to read plans, specs, and bid documents and extract requirements.
• Strong math, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate, timely cost estimates for large utility construction projects.
• Prepare material/quantity take-offs and analyze data.
• Review bid documents, read plans, and note requirements and scheduling.
• Prepare bid proposals and SOWs for submittal and follow-up.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and third parties on project development.
• Maintain the Project Management Plan including scope, schedule, cost and risks.
