Job summary

Collier County Board of County Commissioners seeks an experienced engineering leader to manage the Public Utilities and Engineering Division, overseeing project design, construction, plan review, and associated business units, in alignment with County goals.

The role directs staff, ensures safety and regulatory compliance, develops budgets, coordinates with developers and county boards, and represents the division in meetings and reports.

Qualifications

• Eight (8) years of related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License with any applicable endorsement(s) to drive a County vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Manage operations and activities of the Public Utilities and Engineering Division.
• Assist the Division Director in policy development and strategic planning.
• Supervise staff and evaluate performance; develop goals and priorities for the division.
• Develop and manage budget, monitor expenses, and authorize purchases.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and other divisions; oversee design/construction projects.
• Prepare and present reports to Board of County Commissioners and the public.
• Ensure compliance with codes, safety procedures, and state/local regulations.
