The role requires expert utility infrastructure knowledge, construction-phase support, and collaboration with Amtrak, utility owners, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering; master's preferred.
• PE license in NY or NJ.
• 10+ years in civil engineering focusing on utilities and construction-phase support.
• Ability to resolve field issues and contractor-driven design changes.
• Knowledge of utilities, drainage, grading and infrastructure systems.
• Familiarity with Amtrak, AREMA, NJDOT and NYDOT standards.
• Experience coordinating with contractors and public agencies.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder coordination.
• Willing to work in a hybrid NYC metro area.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical SME for utility infrastructure during construction.
• Provide field support and resolve utility and civil construction issues.
• Review designs against field conditions and constraints.
• Evaluate RFIs, submittals, field changes, and deviations.
• Coordinate with contractors, Amtrak, and utility owners.
• Support tie-ins, relocations, and sequencing during construction.
• Review shop drawings and as-builts; participate in site inspections.
• Identify risks to cost, schedule, and constructability.
• Mentor junior staff and support project delivery.
