Job summary

AfterShip is seeking a Senior User Researcher to lead end-to-end research for post-purchase product areas, translating how merchants and shoppers work into clear guidance for product, design, and leadership.

You will partner with Product, Design, Product Marketing, and Engineering, reporting to the Manager of User Research. This is a remote position with a preference for candidates in the United States and occasional collaboration across Asia/Europe.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of applied UX research with generative and evaluative methods.
• Own research for a product area with minimal oversight.
• Strong command of qualitative and quantitative methods.
• Synthesize research into clear, actionable insights for product decisions.
• Mentor researchers and raise team standards.
• Bachelor's or Master's in HCI, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Design, or related field.
• Comfortable working autonomously in a remote-first distributed team.
• Mandarin proficiency is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify research topics with product teams and own end-to-end research with minimal oversight.
• Design and execute primary research using a wide variety of methods addressing user behavior and attitudes.
• Manage and prioritize research plans in fast-changing environments with many stakeholders.
• Communicate results with compelling recommendations to product teams and leadership.
• Define and track the impact of research on product and business outcomes.
