Job summary

AfterShip in the United States is seeking a Staff User Researcher to set and own the research agenda across multiple product areas, shaping post-purchase strategy and elevating the function. You’ll mentor researchers, define quality standards, and partner with Product, Design, Data, and Engineering to drive measurable impact.

Remote-first with a preference for candidates in the United States, this role requires collaboration with teams in Asia and Europe, occasionally outside of standard hours

Qualifications

• 8 years of applied UX research across multiple product areas.
• Proven ability to lead research strategy and roadmap.
• Experience mentoring researchers and elevating a team’s craft.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in HCI, Psychology, Design, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Identify, prioritize, lead, and execute research to inform product strategy across the company.
• Define, design, and socialize studies to understand merchants and shoppers worldwide.
• Partner with Product, Design, Data Science, Engineering, and Product Marketing to develop initiatives.
• Translate research into product and business perspectives and align leadership on strategic questions.
• Set quality standards, mentor researchers, and act as a SME.
• Identify best practices in existing and emerging research methodologies.
• Proactively identify new user and business opportunities.
