Job summary

UC San Diego Health seeks a Sr. Physician Assistant to deliver same-day acute care across Express Care sites, including Vista, La Jolla, Eastlake, Encinitas, and more.

You will assess patients, follow advanced practice guidelines, and ensure continuity of care, with the ability to float between locations as needed. The role requires ARC-PA accredited PA training, CA PA license, NCCPA certification, and current BLS/CPR and ACLS, plus PALS or related credentialing within six months.

Qualifications

• Graduate of ARC-PA approved PA program.
• California PA license.
• Current NCCPA certification.
• BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to obtain ART within six months.
• Current PALS certification, or must obtain within six months of hire.
• Minimum one year of full-time work experience as a licensed PA in an Emergency Department, Urgent Care, or Express Care.
• Ability to perform triage and handle urgent situations with accuracy and tact.
• Ability to work within a team and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide same-day acute care to patients at Express Care locations.
• Assess patients and take appropriate clinical actions based on training and scope.
• Follow standardized advanced practice guidelines to ensure quality and continuity of care.
• Able to float to all Express Care locations as needed.
