Job summary

The Student Conservation Association, Inc is seeking crew members for outdoor conservation projects in the East Bay Area. The role runs Saturdays from Oct 17, 2026 to May 15, 2027, with an overnight camping trip in spring. Weekly hours are 14, pay is $18.50/hour, and housing is not provided.

Qualifications

• Be a high school student or freshly graduated who is 18 years old.
• Must be available for all program dates, barring emergencies.
• Ability to perform manual, physical outdoor labor for up to 8 hours per day, rain or shine.
• A team-oriented mindset and desire to work outdoors.
• Must have the ability to legally work in the USA.

Responsibilities

• Senior crew members will primarily complete conservation work with local partners.
• Obtain First Aid/CPR certification, camping and practical outdoor skills, tool use, urban agriculture basics, climate education activities, and assist volunteer events.
• Lead and support other crew members; contribute to a year-end multimedia project and post-season surveys.
