Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a skilled UPS technician within the Critical Power Group in Los Angeles to maintain, service, and troubleshoot UPS systems, batteries, and related power electronics at mission-critical facilities.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, emergency service on call, equipment inspection, and coordination with on-site teams. Strong NEC knowledge and safety adherence are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• AA/BS degree in Electrical and/or Electronics from an accredited college or university, or equivalent field or military training.
• Minimum of seven+ years OEM experience (Vertiv, SCI, Cyberex, Toshiba, Mitsubishi, Gutor, APC, MGE, Schneider Electric, Powerware/Eaton) or eight years of progressively difficult experience in power electronic system maintenance and repair.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex technical instructions, plans blueprints, and schematic diagrams.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC, maintenance practices, and quality control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily travel with independent work structure and respond to emergency calls 24/7 when not on PTO.
• Maintain and safeguard company equipment and tools; perform battery repair and replacement; install and replace equipment.
• Provide technical support to customers and manage on-site subcontractors; complete field service reports, time sheets, and expense reports.
