Job summary

CD PROJEKT RED is seeking a Senior Technical Animator for The Witcher 4 on a 6‑month fixed-term contract. You will implement, refine, and stabilise animation systems using Unreal Engine 5's Unreal Animation Framework, taking ownership of existing technical solutions and ensuring they are robust and reusable across NPCs, humanoid enemies, and monsters.

You will collaborate with Animators, Designers, Programmers, and other Technical Animators to deliver high-quality animation systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Technical Animation on AAA or large-scale game projects.
• Extensive hands-on Unreal Engine 5 animation experience.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving abilities across runtime issues and artefacts.
• Ability to understand and own unfamiliar technical systems and drive solutions to completion.

Responsibilities

• Implement, refactor, and stabilise character animation systems in Unreal Engine 5 (UAF/AnimNext).
• Own existing animation systems and improve reliability, performance, and reusability across characters.
• Develop animation features for NPCs, humanoid enemies, and monsters (IK, ragdoll, look-at).
• Investigate and resolve animation bugs, crashes, and performance bottlenecks in collaboration with team.
