Job summary

ERT, Inc. is seeking a Senior UNIX/Linux System Engineer in Radford, Virginia for managing and supporting servers in a mixed environment of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Solaris UNIX. The position requires an active DoD Secret Security Clearance and offers a salary range of $100,000 - $140,000.

The ideal candidate will have at least five years of UNIX/Linux experience, a CompTIA Security+ certification, and strong troubleshooting skills in complex network environments. Excellent communication and team skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ experience as a Unix/Linux Systems Administrator or IT Engineer with experience in automating assigned tasks.
• Minimum three years’ experience configuring and maintaining key services such as DNS, SFTP, SMTP, and NTP.
• Minimum three years' experience in patch management with understanding of applying security updates to systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain, deploy, troubleshoot, and support servers for a mixed customer environment.
• Plan, execute, and implement new system hardware/software and create technical instructions.
• Monitor and tune system performance and report on security and operational status.
