General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Unix and Linux Manager to lead the NIH CIT Hosting and Storage Services Program.

The role emphasizes people leadership, operational discipline, and delivery of compliant Unix/Linux services on a hybrid work model with three days on site in Bethesda, MD. The successful candidate will balance operational excellence with modernization, manage staff recruitment and mentoring, and ensure effective incident management and client engagement

Qualifications

BS/BA and 6+ years of experience in an IT-related discipline.
Experience overseeing a portfolio of technology services and leading a technical team’s day-to-day execution.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day oversight for your team by delegating and prioritizing task execution, resolving roadblocks, and ensuring timely delivery of Unix/Linux services.
Oversee service catalog, identify customer demands, develop technical strategy and vision, and rally the team to implement.
Collaborate with Project Managers/Scrum Masters to ensure transparent communications on timelines, resources, risks, and status; step into PM role when needed.
Drive continuous improvement to introduce new services and ways of working to meet evolving customer demands.
Oversee personnel management including recruitment, performance management, and mentoring.
Provide incident oversight and post-closure communication including after-action reporting.
