Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Unix and Linux Team Lead for NIH CIT Hosting and Storage Services. The role oversees a team delivering Unix/Linux services, develops technical strategy, and works with project leadership to ensure timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Broad hands-on experience across infrastructure technologies including Unix/Linux variants and supporting services.
• Experience modernizing a team's technology services and delivery practices with standardization and automation.
• Experience applying Agile and project management practices to manage priorities and backlogs.
• Working knowledge of ITIL principles including incident, problem, service request, change, and service level management.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day oversight for your team by delegating and prioritizing task execution, resolving roadblocks, and ensuring efficient and timely delivery of all Unix and Linux services.
• Oversee your team’s service catalog with leadership; identify customer demands, shape the technical strategy, and rally the team to realize the vision.
• Work closely with Project Managers/Scrum Masters to ensure transparent communications on timelines, resource requirements, risk management, and status reporting; step into PM roles as needed.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement to deliver new services and new ways of working to meet future customer needs.
• Oversee personnel management including staff recruitment, performance management, training, and mentoring for all team members.
• Provide oversight for incidents, coordinating with resolution parties and ensuring effective communication during and after closure, including after-action reporting.
