Job summary

The University Of Mary is looking for a Controller to lead financial affairs. This senior financial leader will oversee accounting operations, manage financial reporting, and ensure compliance with regulations. The role is critical for maintaining fiscal responsibility and providing strategic financial data.

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and a Master’s or CPA are required, along with 7-10 years of experience preferably in higher education or nonprofit sectors.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in higher education or nonprofit sector.
• Maintains absolute confidentiality and discretion in all matters related to the Office of Financial Affairs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Coordinate annual audits and manage relationships with external auditors.
• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and fixed asset accounting.
• Collaborate with the VP of Financial Affairs to develop and monitor the annual budget.
