Job summary

Georgetown University is seeking a Controller within the Office of the Chief Financial Officer. The role partners with the CFO on policy, strategy, and long-term fiscal health, overseeing accounting, GAAP reporting, internal controls, audits, tax, student accounts, and sponsored projects administration.

The position requires a CPA, a bachelor’s in business/finance, and at least 10 years of financial leadership in higher education or non-profit settings. Hybrid work arrangement is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related discipline required.
• Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible financial management experience, including leadership in a complex organization (higher education or non-profit preferred).
• CPA certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial accounting and GAAP reporting, internal controls, external audit management, tax, student accounts and receivables.
• Manage post-award sponsored projects administration and Uniform Guidance compliance.
• Provide executive financial guidance to Board of Trustees and senior leadership; align operations with university goals.
