Job summary

Maximus, a trusted government partner, seeks a Senior UC Engineer to lead enterprise collaboration across on‑premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. You will provide hands‑on Tier 3 support for voice and video services, drive QoS design, and coordinate incident response to minimize disruption to mission-critical communications.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in UC/telecom roles, strong documentation skills, and experience with Cisco UC and Microsoft Teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Telecommunications, Networking, IT, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in telecommunications engineering, unified communications, or related enterprise IT roles.
• Proven experience supporting enterprise voice, video, and collaboration platforms (VoIP, VTC, UC).
• Experience with advanced Tier 3 troubleshooting for complex telecom and UC issues.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring tools and performance analysis for voice/video services.
• Strong knowledge of QoS, network integration, and voice/video traffic optimization.
• Experience coordinating incident response and service restoration in mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior technical authority for UC services across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Provide hands-on engineering support and advanced Tier 3 troubleshooting for complex voice and video service issues.
• Monitor service health, performance metrics, alerts, and capacity indicators to drive improvements.
• Provide technical direction for unified communications platforms aligned with architecture standards.
• Collaborate with network and operations teams to ensure QoS and network integration for voice/video.
• Support platform lifecycle activities: upgrades, migrations, and config changes.
• Coordinate incident response and service restoration for mission-critical communications.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge bases.
• Contribute to service management reporting and SLA performance improvements.
• Serve as a liaison with stakeholders and cross-functional teams for reliable delivery.
