Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Unified Communications Engineer – Principal to design and deploy scalable UC solutions across our IT environment. The role emphasizes security, reliability, and seamless integration with existing Cisco UC components and network infrastructure.

You will install, configure, and maintain VoIP and video conferencing systems, while collaborating with vendors and internal teams to ensure optimal performance and security.

Qualifications

• Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI or ability to obtain SCI.
• 12 years of telecommunications technical experience installing, administering, and upgrading Cisco UC appliances and converged networks.
• Knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco IM & Presence, Cisco Expressway, Cisco Video Teleconferencing Systems, Cisco SBC, Cisco Meeting Server, Cisco Unity Connect, and related platforms.
• Exceptional knowledge of Cisco Collaboration Call flow and SIP signaling.
• Experience with VLANs, firewalls, ACLs, monitoring protocols, and 1x authentication.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement unified communications solutions focusing on scalability and security.
• Install and set up VoIP, video conferencing, instant messaging, and collaboration platforms.
• Monitor performance and apply maintenance and security patches.
• Integrate UC with network, AD, and cloud services.
• Implement security protocols for channels, data, and endpoints.
