Job summary

Ferguson Enterprises, LLC. seeks a remote Lead UniData Software Support Engineer to join the Software Engineering Quick Response Team. You will support and maintain Ferguson's ERP platform, Trilogie, using UniData/UniBasic to diagnose issues and improve performance.

The role involves senior escalation, root-cause analysis, collaboration with engineering, QA, analysts, and support teams, with after-hours coverage as needed to ensure system health across a large enterprise.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience supporting UniData, UniBasic or other Pick-based technologies.
• Strong experience resolving complex application and production support issues.
• Experience performing root cause analysis and driving issue resolution across teams.
• Experience supporting applications that use APIs and web services.
• Experience with Oracle and/or SQL Server databases.
• Experience in multi-server environments.
• Good understanding of high-volume transaction processing environments.
• Experience with UniData file structures, dictionaries, triggers, and multi-level files.
• Ability to analyze application behavior, troubleshoot code, and recommend technical solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working within structured change management and support processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep understanding of Trilogie, Ferguson’s ERP platform.
• Monitor system health and investigate production incidents.
• Serve as senior escalation point for complex issues.
• Investigate root causes and manage resolution of issues.
• Collaborate with software engineering to improve reliability and performance.
• Answer inquiries from support teams and business users.
• Resolve data, integration, and performance issues across the enterprise.
• Follow ITIL processes for updates and changes.
• Participate in rotating after-hours support for critical incidents.
• Document findings, resolutions, and known issues.
• Mentor team members on functionality and techniques.
• Identify opportunities to improve monitoring and operations.
