Job summary

Transamerica is seeking an experienced underwriting professional to perform internal underwriting audits and review staff work. The role focuses on mortality and morbidity data within life and protection products and includes acting as a liaison with the MIB and auditing contestable claims.

The ideal candidate will have strong SO regulations knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Qualifications

• Five years of underwriting experience with mortality and morbidity based products.
• Two years of directly related auditing experience.
• Thorough knowledge of underwriting practices and industry standards, including Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform audits of underwriting work and review lower-level staff.
• Trend and review mortality and morbidity experience for L&P markets.
• Serve as an MIB liaison and conduct the annual MIB self-audit.
• Review and report on contestable claims and advise the Claims Department.
• Assist with projects and special assignments.
