Job summary

Transamerica is seeking a subject matter expert in underwriting risk audits to lead audits and coordinate with external auditors. You will ensure internal controls align with company policies, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and industry practices.

The role involves auditing, data gathering, consulting with Claims, and leading teams on high-stakes projects while mentoring newer staff in a remote/hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent experience.
• Ten years of underwriting experience with mortality and morbidity-based products.
• Four years of auditing experience.
• Thorough knowledge of underwriting practices and Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and analytical skills to perform audits.

Responsibilities

• Perform forensic review audits of underwriting work and provide guidance to team members.
• Lead team in collecting data for audits.
• Serve as a consultant to the Claims department and provide recommendations on contestable claims.
• Trend and report on mortality and morbidity experience for specified insurance markets.
• Assist the Agent Quality Research Manager, as necessary.
• Lead team meetings and special projects; provide training for new team members.
