Job summary

CVS Health is seeking an Underwriting Manager for Meritain Health, a national TPA and benefits administrator. Lead a team of underwriters, manage workflow, and contribute to pricing strategies while collaborating with Sales, Client Management, and operations to support growth and client satisfaction.

The role requires strong analytical skills, leadership experience, and proficiency in Excel and Salesforce. 40-hour work week with comprehensive benefits and bonus eligibility.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of underwriting, financial analysis, pricing methodologies, and/or funding arrangements.
• 2+ years of relevant medical insurance experience: brokers, carriers, (TPA) third-party administrators, benefit analysis, underwriting, rating methodologies, or policy marketing.

Responsibilities

• Lead underwriting team and provide mentorship to underwriters.
• Prepare underwriting analyses and financial projections for new and renewal business.
• Assist in quotes, questionnaires, and financial projections.
• Apply underwriting guidelines and negotiate terms within authority; escalate exceptions as needed.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support sales and retention efforts.
• Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements in underwriting.
