Job summary

Meritain Health, a national underwriter within the CVS Health family, seeks an Underwriting Manager to lead a team of underwriters and drive pricing, risk assessment, and client proposals.

You will mentor staff, manage workflow, collaborate with Sales and Client Management, and contribute to automation and tooling improvements. This full-time role offers a strong benefits package and opportunities to influence stop-loss strategy and product positioning.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of underwriting, financial analysis, pricing methodologies, and/or funding arrangements.
• 2+ years of relevant medical insurance experience: brokers, carriers, (TPA), benefit analysis, underwriting, rating methodologies, or policy marketing.
• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent years of related experience.
• 2+ years of prior leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and mentorship to a team of underwriters.
• Manage workflow, priorities, and quality reviews to ensure timely, accurate deliverables.
• Prepare underwriting analyses, quotes, questionnaires, and financial projections.
• Collaborate with Sales, Client Management, and other stakeholders to support sales and retention.
• Lead or contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives.
