BITCO Corporation seeks a Senior Underwriter in the Pasadena area to evaluate commercial insurance applications and underwrite new and renewal business from an agency portfolio. The role emphasizes risk assessment, strong analytical skills, and mentoring junior underwriters.

The position is open to a hybrid work arrangement with travel to BITCO and offsite offices as needed. Location: Pasadena, CA. Salary range is $100,000–$140,000 with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Insurance, Risk Management, or related field preferred; or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in field underwriting, underwriting new & renewal business, analyzing exposures, agency management, and external sales.

Responsibilities

• Decide whether to accept, decline or modify applications and assess exposure changes during policy periods.
• Evaluate, quote and negotiate prices on applications and changes in policies.
• Manage a group of agencies, grow and develop relationships, and oversee agency profitability and credit.
