Ideal candidates have strong P&C knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to make sound underwriting decisions for a profitable book. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement in California, with in-office presence required

Qualifications

• 5+ years of P&C underwriting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, risk management or insurance.
• Strong understanding of P&C principles and risk evaluation.
• Experience managing commercial accounts and underwriting decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and underwriting systems.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, underwrite, and manage commercial P&C accounts, submissions, exposures and pricing.
• Analyze loss history, financials, and risk profiles for informed decisions.
• Apply underwriting guidelines, actuarial info, and industry best practices.
• Build relationships with brokers, agents and internal stakeholders.
• Handle renewals and new submissions with proper documentation and approvals.
• Monitor portfolio performance and market trends to guide strategy.
• Collaborate with claims, actuarial, finance, and risk teams.
• Ensure compliance with policies, regulations and standards.
• Participate in special projects to improve processes and profitability.
