Job summary

Core Specialty is seeking a Senior Underwriter to evaluate, analyze and price risks related to excess auto liability for a wholesale broker distribution channel. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to travel for broker meetings.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience in trucking liability or excess underwriting, with strong MS Word/Excel/Access skills. Hybrid/remote work options are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
• 7+ years of related trucking liability & excess underwriting experience preferred; equivalent mix acceptable.
• Working knowledge of standard insurance concepts, practices and procedures.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, analyze and price risks for excess auto liability coverage.
• Develop insurance proposals, process binders and endorse as needed.
• Obtain required underwriting approvals and ensure standards on assigned accounts.
• Travel for broker marketing meetings and industry events; support the team.
• Prepare reports, presentations and special projects for the excess liability group.
