Job summary

Core Specialty seeks a Senior Underwriter to evaluate and price risks on excess auto liability through a wholesale broker distribution plant. You will determine acceptability and profitability of new and existing business, develop proposals, process binders and obtain endorsements as needed.

You will travel to conduct broker marketing meetings and industry events, communicate effectively with team members, and support ongoing underwriting guidelines while driving profitability and service

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
• 7+ years of related trucking liability/excess underwriting experience.
• Working knowledge of standard insurance concepts, practices and procedures.
• Ability to travel for broker meetings and industry events.

As the Senior Underwriter you will evaluate, analyze and price risks associated with excess auto liability coverage through a wholesale broker distribution plant.Key Accountabilities/Deliverables:Determines the acceptability, quality and profitability of new and existing business based on company underwriting guidelines and objectives.Develop insurance proposals, process binders, approve endorsements, and obtain required underwriting approvals where neededEnsure underwriting and service standards are met on assigned accountsTravel to conduct broker marketing meetings and attend industry events as determined by managementPerforms related duties as required under Underwriting Guidelines and as requested to include report preparation, presentations, and special projects to assist the excess liability teamEffectively communicate and collaborate with other members of the team to broaden knowledge of the product line and/or technical knowledge of pricingOther duties as assignedTechnical Knowledge and Understanding:Demonstrate excellent communication, marketing skills and superior customer serviceDetail oriented with the ability to work in a team environment and be flexible to daily changing needs and job dutiesStrong analytical skillsGood organization and effective time managementSelf-motivated and independentStrong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Access and other related software packagesExperience:Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university7+ years of related primary trucking liability and/or excess underwriting experience preferred; Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience.Working knowledge of standard insurance concepts, practices and proceduresApplicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over work authorization sponsorship now or in the future for this position.#LI-Hybrid#LI-Remote-At Core Specialty, you will receive a competitive salary and opportunities for professional development and advancement.
