Job summary

Core Specialty is seeking a Sr. Underwriter in Cincinnati, OH to analyze E&S Product Liability submissions from broker partners, determine eligibility within appetite, and establish appropriate limits, attachment points, pricing and terms that support profitability goals.

The role requires 4+ years of Commercial Insurance Underwriting, knowledge of pricing/rating methodologies, and a CPCU/CRM/ARM/CIC designation or progress toward one; hybrid work, monthly travel to brokers in the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Insurance or Risk Management or equivalent
• 4+ years of Commercial Insurance Underwriting experience
• Industry designation such as CPCU, CRM, ARM, CIC preferred
• Willingness to travel monthly to meet brokers in the region
• Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (no sponsorship)

Responsibilities

• Analyze E&S Product Liability submissions to determine eligibility within Core Specialty appetite and set limits, attachment points, pricing & terms
• Ensure risks are within delegated authority, underwriting standards, risk selection, peer review and pricing methodologies
• Provide documented evidence of underwriting activities and decisions in files as required
• Build and maintain broker relationships and support company objectives
