You will review complex risks, determine acceptance, and implement underwriting strategy in collaboration with the underwriting team, aiming for profitable growth and risk control.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree, 3–5 years of underwriting experience in specialty lines, and a preferred professional designation (AICPCU or RPLU).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• Minimum of 3-5 years progressively complex specialty underwriting experience.
• Professional insurance designation is preferred (AICPCU, RPLU).

Responsibilities

• Manages a profitable book of business by evaluating results and conducting portfolio reviews for assigned territory and individual producers.
• Underwrites new and renewal business within authority, selecting, modifying or declining risks as needed.
• Collaborates with producers and internal teams to improve profitability, growth and retention.
• Regularly travels to key producers/accounts and participates in industry events as needed.
• Provides training and mentoring to less experienced underwriters.
