Job summary

Susser Bank, a Texas regional bank, seeks a seasoned Senior Underwriter with deep expertise in C&I and CRE lending. This in-office role leads a credit team, underwriting complex middle-market credits across Texas, while mentoring junior analysts and associates.

The candidate will handle deal load independently, participate in credit committee presentations, and collaborate with relationship managers to structure credits that win business while protecting the bank.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of progressive commercial underwriting in C&I and CRE.
• Ability to independently underwrite complex C&I and CRE deals.
• Strong Texas market knowledge across property types.
• Advanced financial spreading and cash-flow modeling skills.
• Excellent written and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and existing C&I and CRE credits ranging from $3M to $50M+.
• Perform full financial analysis including cash flows, rent rolls, and appraisals.
• Prepare credit memoranda with risks, mitigants, and covenants.
• Present credits to the credit committee and defend recommendations.
• Mentor junior underwriters and analysts.
• Manage portfolio through annual reviews and covenant testing.
