Liberty Mutual in Philadelphia is seeking a Sr. Underwriter for the Contractor's Environmental Legal Liability and Designers & Contractors Professional Liability within the ECU.

You will underwrite pollution and professional lines, pricing risk with limited guidance while collaborating with brokers, clients, claims partners, and internal stakeholders. The role emphasizes analytical decision-making, market knowledge, and building a profitable book.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; environmental science preferred.
• 3–5 years of Contractors Pollution Liability and related underwriting experience.
• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Leverage market presence and knowledge to develop and underwrite profitable business.
• Handle a substantial environmental pollution book of business.
• Gather underwriting information, review, analyze, price and document, new and renewal Contractors Pollution Liability and combined form Pollution / Professional Liability.
• Prepare quotes and binders and review policies and endorsements for accuracy.
• Manage portfolio of brokers/agents and clients.
• Develop and support marketing strategies to increase submission flow (limited travel).
• Provide exceptional service to brokers by following workflow procedures on new and renewal business to achieve production and service goals.
• Drive new business submission and premium growth through strategic sales and marketing efforts with broker partners and cross-sell initiatives.
