Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance seeks a Sr. Underwriter for our Environmental Construction Unit in Plano, TX.

You will underwrite Contractor’s Environmental Legal Liability and Designers & Contractors Professional Liability, pricing risk and building a profitable book while collaborating with brokers, clients and claims partners. You’ll review submissions, analyze exposures, and structure terms that balance customer needs with portfolio quality, drawing on your 3–5 years of underwriting or brokerage

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; environmental science or similar degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of Contractors Pollution Liability and combined form Pollution / Professional Liability underwriting experience with an environmental insurance company, or 3-5 years of brokerage experience placing Contractors Pollution Liability and combined form Pollution / Professional Liability policies.
• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Initiative and ability to work independently.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across teams, stakeholders, and partners.

Responsibilities

• Develop and underwrite profitable business leveraging market presence.
• Handle a substantial environmental pollution book of business.
• Gather underwriting information, review, analyze, price and document new and renewal Contractors Pollution Liability and combined form Pollution / Professional Liability policies.
• Prepare quotes and binders and review policies and endorsements for accuracy.
• Manage portfolio of brokers/agents and clients.
• Develop and support marketing strategies to increase submission flow (limited travel).
• Drive new business submission and premium growth through strategic sales and marketing with broker partners and internal cross-sell initiatives with other profit centers.
