Job summary

Everest Insurance Company is seeking a Senior Underwriter, Commercial Auto for the Wholesale Casualty team. The role focuses on building and managing a profitable E&S Commercial Auto book across the Central Region, with location flexibility and a primarily hybrid work setup.

Exceptional candidates may be considered for remote work based on qualifications. The position demands 5–7+ years of underwriting experience, strong knowledge of Commercial Auto risk, and proven broker relationship

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of commercial insurance underwriting experience.
• Strong expertise in Commercial Auto underwriting, preferably within the E&S or wholesale market.
• Experience underwriting transportation, contractor auto, trucking, specialty vehicle, or auto-focused casualty risks.
• Proven success in managing broker relationships and generating new business production.
• Ability to independently manage a book of business with underwriting discipline.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal E&S Commercial Auto business including fleet, public auto and other exposures.
• Develop and maintain a profitable book of business within the Central Region.
• Build strong relationships with wholesale broker partners.
• Evaluate risk exposures, pricing adequacy, terms and coverage structures.
• Execute underwriting strategies aligned with regional growth objectives.
• Identify new business opportunities and drive brand awareness.
• Collaborate with Claims, Actuarial, Operations, Product and Distribution teams.
• Monitor market conditions and broker activity in the territory.
• Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines and referral processes.
