Arrowhead Intermediaries in Fort Wayne, IN seeks a Senior Underwriter to join our growing team. The role operates with moderate direction and within defined underwriting authority to evaluate and rate insurance applications, ensuring accuracy and alignment with carrier guidelines.

The Senior Underwriter will independently underwrite new and renewal business, contribute to profitability goals, and collaborate with client services, risk services and claims teams to deliver exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in insurance & risk management or 2+ years underwriting experience.
• Solid understanding of underwriting commercial exposures and coverages.
• Active Indiana Property and Casualty License.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite standard level of new and renewal accounts in accordance with guidelines.
• Contribute toward premium and profitability objectives.
• Evaluate clients' exposures (general liability, excess/umbrella, property, auto) to assess risk.
• Develop and communicate informed underwriting decisions.
• Monitor results to identify trends on assigned accounts.
• Coordinate account servicing with Client Services, Risk Services and Claims Services.
• Perform other duties as assigned by underwriting leader.

Arrowhead Intermediaries is seeking an Senior Underwriter to join our growing team in FT. Wayne, IN.

The Senior Underwriter operates at an intermediate level of underwriting skill and difficulty and will work independently under moderate direction from their assigned Underwriting Team Leader. The Underwriter will operate within its assigned intermediate level of Underwriting Authority to evaluate, qualify and rate individual insurance applications/ supporting documentation for assigned underwriting files to determine the acceptability of risk factors on behalf of the carrier. This individual is expected to maintain a high level of accuracy within their work product. The Underwriter will also contribute toward the achievement of the company’s premium and profitability goals as defined by its underwriting leader

How You Will Contribute

• Underwrite standard level of new and renewal accounts in accordance with all applicable guidelines and procedures.
• Moderate contribution toward the achievement of American Specialty's premium and profitability objectives.
• Evaluate client's entire range of exposures (general liability, excess/umbrella, property, and automobile) ensuring each exposure has been properly assessed.
• Ensure effective, comprehensive approaches are developed, recommended, and implemented to address the exposures. This is accomplished by examination and evaluation of documents such as application forms, inspection reports, product brochures, financial reports, loss information, and other data to determine degree of risk, underwriting and market selection.
• Develop and communicate informed, sound underwriting decisions.
• Monitor results to identify trends and developments on assigned accounts.
• Coordinate account servicing through interaction with Client Services, Risk Services and Claims Services in such a way as to meet American Specialty service objectives.
• Any other job-related duties may be assigned by your underwriting leader.

Licenses And Certifications

• Active Indiana Property and Casualty License.

Skills & Experience To Be Successful

• Bachelor's degree in insurance & risk management OR possess 2+ years of on-the-job underwriting experience, including developed technical knowledge and underwriting philosophy.
• Solid understanding of underwriting commercial exposures and insurance coverages.
