Job summary

HMB Professional Engineers is seeking an Underground Utility Locator (SUE) to join our Construction/CEI team in Murfreesboro, TN. The role centers on locating and mapping utilities, using locating equipment, and supporting our SUE capabilities.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in locating underground utilities using various locating methods. You will collaborate with the Utilities Group Manager, cross-train to develop additional skills, and travel Monday–Friday as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in locating underground utilities using multiple locating methods.
• Experience with utility locating equipment and cross training within a team.
• Ability to read and interpret utility maps and locate underground facilities.

Responsibilities

• Locate, identify, and map location and depths of utilities (underground and overhead).
• Operate detection equipment to locate and mark underground facilities.
• Perform QA/QC checks.
• Perform assignments under the Utilities Group Manager and assist as needed.
• Coordinate and work with survey field crews and other office staff.
• Additional duties as assigned.
