Job summary

HMB Professional Engineers, LLC in Nashville, TN is seeking an Underground Utility Locator with 5+ years of utility locating experience to join our Construction/CEI team. You will map utilities, operate locating equipment, and support cross‑training within the Utilities Group.

The role requires reading utility maps, a valid driver's license, and willingness to travel; occasional night work and outdoor conditions apply. We offer a competitive hourly rate and a hybrid work schedule.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience locating utilities.
• Ability to read and interpret utility maps and prints.
• Willing to cross-train as part of the Survey Field Team.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Criminal background check and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Locate, identify, and map location and depths of utilities (underground and overhead).
• Operate detection equipment to locate and mark underground facilities.
• Perform QA/QC checks.
• Coordinate with Utilities Group Manager and survey field staff.
• Assist as needed on projects within the team.
