Job summary

DBE UTILITY SERVICES, a division of United Utility Services, seeks a full-time Project Manager in Houston, TX. The role requires a minimum of 5 years of project management experience in underground utilities and travels to Southeast and Florida as needed.

You will lead project planning, budgeting, procurement, and construction closeout, mentor staff, and promote best practices. Excellent communication and self-starting behavior are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in underground utilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, schedules, costs, and stakeholders.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to Southeast locations and Florida; occasional overnight stays.
• Self-starter who can work independently.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall management of projects from estimating to construction closeout including bidding, procurement, project controls, constructability reviews, material management, pre-construction, construction management, budgeting, and closeout.
• Develop and monitor project schedules, manage scope, and control costs.
• Direct and coordinate activities of several disciplines on projects of moderate scope.
• Report progress, cost and schedule metrics, procurement issues, safety or environmental concerns, and any issues requiring office support.
• Promote open communication between customers, departments, and personnel.
