Job summary

Ivanhoe Electric Inc. in Casa Grande, AZ, seeks an experienced Mine Engineering Leader to drive underground mine planning, design, and production ramp-up, and to oversee Scoping, PFS and FS studies.

The role requires 15+ years of underground hard rock mining experience, strong use of Deswik, Minesight, Datamine, Vulcan and Whittle, and proven leadership, safety and project management skills to steer technical teams and contractors toward operational readiness.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mine Engineering or related field; licensed professional engineer
• 15+ years of operational underground hard rock mining/engineering/planning experience
• Familiarity with Deswik, Minesight, Datamine, Vulcan and Whittle for mine design and production planning
• Ability to work legally in USA and/or Canada without sponsorship from Ivanhoe Electric
• Knowledge of mineral resource and reserve estimation standards (JORC, CIM, SME) and public disclosure
• Mine Rescue, MSHA safety requirements; supervisory tickets/experience are assets
• Strong cost control, KPI tracking, and safe mining practices
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to lead projects and teams

Responsibilities

• Lead mine planning and design, including life-of-mine scheduling and production ramp-up planning
• Prepare CapEx and OpEx estimates and develop economic models
• Oversee mining studies (Scoping, PFS, FS) and operational readiness
• Establish mine engineering procedures to support transition to operations
• Design mine infrastructure including ventilation, dewatering, and backfill systems
• Estimate Mineral Reserves using 3D modelling per NI 43-101, JORC, SME
• Support due diligence, asset evaluations, and technical audits
• Mentor staff and engage internal/external stakeholders
• Manage contractors, consultants, and project teams
• Champion health, safety, community, and environmental standards
