Job summary

Ivanhoe Electric is seeking an experienced mining engineer to lead underground mine planning, design, and production ramp-up in Casa Grande, AZ. You will drive economic models, manage studies, and oversee safety, compliance, and stakeholder engagement.

The role requires 15+ years in underground mining/engineering with proficiency in Deswik, Minesight, Datamine, and related tools, plus the ability to work in the USA/Canada without sponsorship.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of underground hard rock mining/engineering experience.
• Familiar with Deswik, Minesight, Datamine, Vulcan, and Whittle.
• Authorized to work in USA/Canada without sponsorship.
• Knowledge of NI 43-101, JORC, SME guidelines and disclosure requirements.
• MSHA safety and rescue experience is a plus.
• Strong cost control, KPI awareness, and performance tracking.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead mine planning and design, including life-of-mine scheduling and ramp-up planning.
• Prepare CapEx and OpEx estimates and develop economic models.
• Oversee mining studies (Scoping, PFS, FS) and operations readiness.
• Lead operability analysis and equipment selection (hoists, ventilation, crushers).
• Establish procedures for mining and transition to operations.
• Design mine infrastructure, including ventilation, dewatering, and backfill systems.
• Estimate mineral reserves per NI 43-101/JORC/S-K 1300.
• Support due diligence, asset evaluations, and technical audits.
• Champion health, safety, community, and environmental standards.
• Mentor staff and engage key internal/external stakeholders.
• Manage contractors, consultants, and internal project teams.
