First Majestic Silver Corp. is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to lead underground mine planning, design, and optimization at Jerritt Canyon. You will collaborate with Technical Services, Operations, and Geology to deliver safe, cost-effective plans aligned with production targets.

This role requires a strong safety mindset, advanced technical expertise, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams while driving continuous improvement in a dynamic environment.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
• 5-10+ years of experience in underground mining engineering.
• Experience in conventional underground hard rock mining, preferably in gold operations.
• Experience in mine design, production scheduling (strategic and tactical), equipment selection, and economic evaluation.
• Proficiency in mine planning and design software with optimization techniques.
• Knowledge of resource estimation, mineral inventory, and exploration methods is an asset.
• Experience in complex, multi-mine or multi-process environments preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and 3D visualization skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with stakeholder influence.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong commitment to safety, health, and environmental standards.

Mansioni

• Lead underground mine planning activities including design, sequencing, scheduling, and optimization.
• Partner with Operations and Geology to develop integrated mine plans aligned with targets.
• Provide leadership in drill, blast design, stope design, and sequencing for safety and cost.
• Support life-of-mine, long-term and short-term planning including forecasting and budgeting.
• Maintain a register of mine planning risks and opportunities with mitigations.
• Lead or contribute to technical studies, including pre-feasibility and feasibility.
• Analyze current practices and recommend improvements for efficiency and cost.
• Develop and implement systems and best practices for planning accuracy and reporting.
• Support budget development and cost variance analysis.
• Prepare and present technical reports to site leadership and stakeholders.
• Ensure deliverables meet standards and support safe operations.
• Foster relationships with operations personnel and contractors.
