Job summary

Office of the Illinois State Treasurer is seeking an Unclaimed Property Fraud Investigations Manager in Springfield to lead fraud detection and deter fraud in the claims process. You will direct investigations, supervise staff, and implement strategies to safeguard owners’ property while ensuring compliance with laws and internal controls.

The role emphasizes stakeholder collaboration, training, and authoritative guidance on anomalies, with attendance being essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in accounting or related field.
• CFE/CISA or similar fraud designation desired.
• 3+ years of related unclaimed property experience.

Responsibilities

• Leads fraud monitoring system administration and strategic advancement (KAPS, Finder Table, KFI).
• Oversees resolution of escalated KFI issues and approves fraud/finder claim decisions.
• Reviews KFI reports daily and generates JASPER and supplemental reports as needed.
• Supervises and mentors staff in fraud detection and claims review procedures.
• Designs and delivers training on fraud detection, prevention, and case handling.
• Sets performance standards and ensures quality/compliance across investigative functions.
• Oversees complex investigations using internal systems and public-record resources.
• Ensures thorough documentation of claims, properties, and claimant information.
