Job summary

Qualifications

• Completion of a technical program in ultrasound technology.
• ARRT Sonography Registry certification.
• BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross) and ADRMS advanced certification (abdomen, breast or OB/GYN).
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Presents a professional, welcoming, supportive, and calm demeanor during all patient interactions.
• Operates imaging and specialty equipment safely and keeps up with device use related to ultrasound.
• Acquires and processes optimum images for diagnostic interpretation.
• Provides quality care for all procedures and exams performed.
• Prepares exam rooms with equipment, supplies and patient preparation requirements.
• Mentors students and new staff as a preceptor when needed.
• Documents all aspects of patient care per established charting procedures.
• Explains procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and obtain essential information.
