Job summary

Tampa General Hospital is seeking a Sonographer 3 to independently perform routine and advanced ultrasound examinations, producing high-quality diagnostic images for physician interpretation. The role emphasizes patient safety, image quality, and efficient workflow while mentoring junior staff and students.

Responsibilities include ensuring patient comfort, verifying patient identification, and confirming appropriate study orders. On-call coverage may be required based on departmental needs.

Qualifications

• Technical program in ultrasound technology.
• BLS certification (ARC or AHA).
• ARDMS RVT or CCI RVS or ARRT vascular sonography and ARRT Sonography Registry.
• Two advanced ARDMS certifications (e.g., Abdomen, Breast, RVT or OB/GYN).
• Three years of diagnostic imaging experience in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform a full range of routine and advanced ultrasound examinations to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced sonographers and students.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort throughout procedures, ensuring proper identification and appropriate study orders.
• Apply ultrasound techniques per departmental protocols and ensure efficient workflow.
• Participate in on-call coverage as required.
