Job summary

Tampa General Hospital is seeking a Sonographer 2 for the Outpatient ED Diagnostics. This full-time position requires expertise in diagnostic ultrasound imaging and vascular technology to support Radiologists in patient diagnosis and treatment.

The ideal candidate must have completed a Sonographic Imaging program and possess a current BLS certification along with RDMS registration. Located in Tampa, this role plays a vital part in ensuring high-quality imaging and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Completion of Sonographic Imaging program from an accredited school with at least 2 years on the job training.
• Current BLS certification; RDMS registered.
• Two (2) years clinical experience/responsibility in an ultrasound department.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound imaging to assist Radiologists.
• Evaluate processed sonographs for quality.

Sonographer 2 - TGH Outpatient ED Diagnostics (260001XA)

Under supervision of the Radiology Section Manager and according to established policies and procedures for various age groups of patients, performs diagnostic ultrasound imaging, vascular and Doppler Technology to assist Radiologists in the diagnosis and treatment of illness. Evaluates processed sonographs to ensure that they are of acceptable quality. Assesses the age‑specific needs of the patients we serve. Also responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Qualifications

• Education: Completion of Sonographic Imaging program from an accredited school with at least 2 years on the job training in a supervised setting within an ultrasound department
• Certification/Licensure: Current BLS certification; RDMS registered
• Work Experience: Two (2) years clinical experience/responsibility in an ultrasound department.
